Summer Project: Olive Green dress

So I've got my hostels booked, and I'm in the process of packing, so I'm headed off to Norway tomorrow. I started a blog about my travels, so you're welcome to check it out if you want to hear more about what I'm up to at charlottewantstotravel.blogspot.com.

In other news, I chipped the nail polish off my left index finger, so I'm going to remove alllll of it later. I suck at wearing nail polish.

I actually finished this dress last Wednesday, and wore it on Thursday. I made it from the same pattern that I used for my Betty Draper dress (just with the 2nd skirt option). I absolutely love how it turned out. It fits really well.

The best part about this fabric is that I've actually had it for years (maybe 7?). I got it for cheap ($3-$6, I can't remember) because it was a scrap, but I never knew what to do with it. I had lots of ideas over the years, but nothing ever seemed quite right.

Then all of a sudden this summer when I got out that vintage pattern to make my Betty dress, it struck my that a shorter version of dress #2 with a chunky exposed zipper would be absolutely perfect for this fabric! And it was! The fabric is a deep olive colour, stretchy and looks a bit like leather, so I can pretty easily dress it up or down. I think I'll be wearing this quite a bit!

I don't know how much I'll be able to blog while I'm travelling, so I'm going to schedule a few posts, and hopefully I'll be back to regular posting after I get to England on October 2nd!
